I toasted the seeds from the kombucha squash I cooked. I put them in a jar.
They seemed lonely, so I matched them up with some whole anise in a jar.
I photographed them together.
I feel slightly sordid.

Isn't that star anise, which is different from anise? I've not seen whole anise, so maybe they look like that, too. And yup, that's definitely quanyin on your porch!
