Turn a shallow box upside down on the kitchen counter. Put a piece of uncooked pasta and a Lorna Doone cookie underneath.
This is a good way to distract him while you write. Otherwise, he's apt to walk over your keyboard or ask "Wanna cuddle?" if you try to ignore him.

Is this an African Grey? I have a cockatiel who loves sitting on my head while I write (bugs me!) I think I should try this trick with him to distract him!
Yup, a Timneh African Grey...a bit smaller that the more common Congo. Unfortunately, he's still a bit too big for head-sitting!
